Psych: Season 1 - A detective series with a twist.

Dulé Hill

A lot of comedy and fun, a refreshing change to most of the crime and detective shows currently on television. 

Starring James Roday as Shawn Spencer, and Dulé Hill as his partner, Gus.  Shawn and Gus run a detective agency called Psych.  Shawn claims to be able to use his psychic powers to solve crimes and mysteries, with the help of his partner and childhood friend, Gus.

Shawn is no psychic, however, he does have amazing powers of detection, which were re-inforced during his childhood by constant training by his police officer father. Shawn has an incredible sense of fun, at times very entertaining, sometimes embarrasing, often enfuriating to his best friend, Gus a great "straight guy" to Shawn's comedic role. 

Gus, works for a pharmaceutical company and is happy to have a regular job with all the benefits that it entails.  However he is intrigued by the idea of adventure and romance in being a private detective.  Dulé Hill is is fun to watch and has almost cartoon-like expressions, as he is often embarrassed and horrified by the antics of his best friend.

Metropolis (Restored)

This complete version of Metropolis, by director Fritz Lang has been painstakenly restored and includes footage that had been lost for over 80 years.  After the 1927 debut of Metropolis in Berlin, the film was shortened by the distributors to increase it's commercial potential.  Metropolis was never shown again in it's entirety, important scenes were lost, main character's scenes were cut so that it only looked like they had bit parts.  

However, an orignal copy of the film was discovered in Argentina by the curator of the Buenos Aires Museo Del Cine in 2008. Once the material was identified it was sent to the Murnau Foundation in Germany who organized the reconstruction and digital restoration of "Metropolis".

Set in the year 2026, the population is divided into workers, who must live in squalid underground conditions and  the wealthy, who enjoy a life of luxury and spendour. A privilaged man joins the oppressed workers in a revolt. With the original orchestial score from 1927.
