Idiocracy The Movie Story Line Army librarian, Joe Bauers, a man of average intelligence with no family and no future is chosen to be a test subject in The Pentagon's top-secret "Hibernation Program" along with prostitute, Rita. They are supposed to be revived after one year but due to unforeseen circumstances, the project is canceled, they are forgotten and wake up in the year 2505 - an age when stupid people have outnumbered intelligent people and Joe becomes the smartest person in America.
